Bio
I have a double degree, both in Management and Dietetics but Nutrition is my real passion. I completed my BS in Dietetics at San Francisco State University and then became a Registered Dietitian.
I am certified in weight management and I also enjoy helping people with diabetes, cardiovascular disease (high blood pressure, high cholesterol or triglycerides), and kidney problems learn how to eat in order to be healthy without feeling deprived of the foods they enjoy most.
Losing weight should not be a struggle; it can be enjoyable if you learn how to eat. I believe in empowering people with the knowledge they need to keep themselves healthy and happy.
Tips
- Exercise helps maintain weight control: -by burning calories; -by raising resting metabolic rate; -by building muscle, which in turn burns more calories at rest than fat does
- Never eat out of boxes, cartons or bags! You won't be able to stop until you finish everything.
- Eat on smaller plates. The plate will look full with less food.
- When eating at home, do not watch TV or talk on the phone. This is a routine that can add extra calories to your meal plan.
- Make one or two changes at a time and write them down.
- Keep a food record to help you see where changes can be made.
